Every good song deserves to be sung right but trying to catch the lyrics as you listen can sometimes prove to be very difficult.The brief for this project provided the perfect solution for this problem. The instructions of the brief required the creation of a lyric music video for a song of my choice , CD packaging ,a redesign of the album title and an insert with two more songs from my chosen artist however there were limitation, the video could not contain any kind of series (stop motion) or motion-based footage. The methods that were allowed were an emulation of motion through the animation of still images, constructed sets or just animated text .
My song choice was River by Bishop Briggs, the song is about a dark love and a brittle relationship in which the two parties involved are trying to hide the cracks in their relationship with physical interactions. The song has contrasting themes of dark ,light and of the highs and lows of relationships thus I chose the visual metaphor of reflected cities of dark and light as my concept.
